Tired of desert golf? Then you must check out this course. Trees line the lush fairways and water protects a number of greens. There are a bunch of dog legs that force you to work the ball both ways. The greens were in great shape. They're fast and so soft, you feel like you could stop your driver on them. And of course, there are some great views of Sedona's red rocks. I can't wait to go back.

The Monday before the 4th of July my friend Bruce invited me to play Oakcreek Country Club. It was the first time I played the course. I found it to be a traditional style layout with lots of trees and spectacular views of the red rocks of Sedona. I thought the fairways and greens were in good shape though not excellent. The greens rolled true and were receptive. Used the range before the round and it was fine and balls were included. The pace of play was great and we finished in under 4 hours. We had lunch after in the clubhouse restaurant and it was good.

Oakcreek Country club is a great golf course. The greens are in terrific shape as are the fairways. The views are fantastic!! The folks in the pro shop were very accommodating. We enjoyed lunch in the club house and it was great - and inexpensive for such a nice place. This is a "Must Play" course.

Played Oakcreek on Monday with the golfmix guys, and I must say this was a great course. If you are heading to the Sedona area, I highly recommend giving it a try. The course itself was in great condition, beautiful green's, and a decently tough setup with a variety of dog-legs. The amenities at Oakcreek (in the middle of remodling their main restaurant), are very solid. I picked up a hot dog to-go at a great price ($5), and that might have been the best hot dog I have ever had. There are some great red rock views on both the front and back nine. Nearly the only downside was the fact that the course design was not set up to take advantage of the views as much as they could have. But really, when that is your only downside, you are doing pretty well.

Oakcreek CC is a course that needs to be on the "must play" list if you live in AZ. This is a Robert Trent Jones designed course and everyhole is well thought out and a good test of golf. It is not a long course but requires you to shape your tee shot for optimum placement. You might find yourself putting the driver away in an effort to hit fairways. The greens have suttle breaks which makes putting more of a challenge. This course is usually in fantastic shape and the views are something you will never tire of. The restaraunt has good food too!

Beautiful, well maintained course. The Red Rock views are spectacular. Pro shop personnel were very friendly and helpful. Had breakfast in the clubhouse and it was great and relatively inexpensive for a nice club. Be careful on the Par 5 15th hole... very tempting to go for in two!!
