Welcome to the 2014 Waste Management Phoenix Open, golfmix nation!
Throughout the week, golfmix team members Anthony Braslavsky (Twitter handle: @_TheReaBra_), Max McDonald (@mcdonald_max) and Justin Silverstein (@jsilverstein08) will share golfmix’s experience at the biggest party in golf.
This peek behind the ropes at the the Greatest and Greenest Show on Grass is presented by Wilson Golf. The great folks at Wilson are out in full force at TPC Scottsdale and are doing all they can to amplify the fun:
“It’s a race to Hole 16 this week! Our tour players are kicking Centennial Wilson footballs into the crowd in honor of our 100th anniversary.”

SUNDAY/WRAP-UP (DAY 7)
The Waste Management Phoenix Open is a spectacle unlike any other, one that causes a stir not only because of the PGA Tour pros impressing on the course but also because of the fans that attend the event.
The incredible atmosphere was no different on Sunday as more than 60,000 fans rushed into TPC Scottsdale to set a new record for the most-attended golf tournament in history at 563,008 for the week.
The masses in attendance Sunday witnessed Kevin Stadler earn his first PGA Tour win, outlasting Bubba Watson, who could have forced a playoff with Stadler but missed a 5-foot putt on the 18th hole to give Stadler the 1-shot victory at 16 under. Watson fell back into a tie for second with Graham DeLaet.
The thrilling conclusion was a microcosm of the events from the entire week at the WMPO. Yes, only one player walked away on top, but those in attendance and those watching TV came away with a W too.
As for the golfmix team, we experienced one wild run at the WMPO as well. From shooting WMPO-TV videos, to making sure we remained as active as possible on social-media sources, to manning the goflmix booth inside the expo tent, it was quite the whirlwind.
The hard work, however, was and always is worth it, and as Sunday wound down, one thing was clear: golfmix made its presence felt. From folks asking golfmix video maven Brett Kurland why he was walking around with a camera, to inquiries to our golfmix girls regarding their awesome green socks, to the immense interest in the outstanding work of WMPO-TV hosts Lindsey Smith, Amanda Pflugrad and co-founder/CEO Jon Bloom, one would think we lived out at TPC Scottsdale for the week.
It certainly was a week to remember for the golfmix team. And we’re not done with the 2014 Waste Management Phoenix Open entertainment. We currently are working on a very exciting project involving golfers, celebs, fans, Thunderbirds and others. To whet the appetite, just know that the dreamy and down-to-earth Jake Owen plays a prominent role. We want to thank Jake for allowing the team to make an impression on him that will lead to us making many more impressions on folks all over the country.
But the biggest thanks goes to all of you — the fans who showed support by either coming out to the event or by following along online. And to those who were brave enough to get in front of the golfmix cameras, stay tuned, you might just have one more special memory from this year’s event.
What a ride it was. WHOA!
